But I don't seem to have seen a very high increase in traffic. Have been getting just 250 visitors a day from this KW.
The term itself shows nearly 50,000,000 results and Adwords show that with top AdSense position I should get 1000 clicks a day with this KW.
My description in the listing is showing up well and should be "attractive" to searchers.
So am I expecting too much?
Should No.2 in unpaid listings get more or less than AdSense Listings?
Anything else that may be causing this?
TIA
David
I have several sites in the top 5 and take it from me, on some, it is not all it's cracked up to be. 3 of the sites are commercial and one is a non-profit hobby site. The hobby site kicks butt in G with lots of traffic. One of the commercial sites does "okay" and the other 2 are very average.
But still you say 250 visitors a day - seems pretty low to me. My stats show between 5000 and 10,000 visits a day for the hobby site. The "okay" site is lucky to hit 2000 a day while the other 2 sites might break 1000 a day once in a while. Demographics may have something to do with it. Keyword popularity too.
Further...
The commercial sites are set up to be global. They sell products to anyone in the world. But I have found that a lot of users looking for particular products will search locally, especially if the products are big ticket items or very popular. You are not going to buy a car in Japan if you live in the states. Same with things like phones, TVs, DVDs, etc. The only time you will compel someone to purchase from afar is if you are greatly reducing their price. Even then, it can be a balancing act. Seems that the audience is getting wise to sites claiming unreal prices. You've all seen it. But XP for $5.00! So demographics does play a role on how people purchase. There is a certain amount of comfort level.
Still, you should get more people looking...
Have you checked how popular the keyword is? "earschplittenlautenboomer" is not going to get many visitors.
FWIW, I'm at number three for a short common word that supposedly gets a million searches a month (sez Overture) and returns over 300,000,000 results. I get just 100 visitors a day from it.
It does seem that with fifty million results returned, this shouldn't be the case. Just throwing it out in case anything helps.
