I've read at least 20 different threads and articles on this subject. One of our subdomains got really big and deserved it's own identity and domain.

We copied all of the content to the new domain and then did a 301 permanent redirect from the subdomian sub.oldsite.com to the new site oldsitesub.com.

Yahoo and MSN followed the 301 redirect flawlessly. No problems at all. Google, however choked on the redirect and the new site is partially indexed and the old site is still partially indexed too. Neither one comes up even for a search for the email domain names.

Can anyone lend a helping hand here? I just need some advice and thoughts on what I should do next. It's been about a week an a half since we put the redirect on. I think, I have two options.

1. Leave it as is and hope for the best.
2. Take the redirect off and just put a simple page at sub.oldsite.com that explains that the old subdomian site has moved and then link to the new domain.
3. Remove the old sub domain from google via the remove url funtion at google.

What do you think? Which route should I take? Also, is there another option that I am missing? My eyes are blurry from so much reading. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Let me know.
Thanks!
