Hi Everyone, I was wondering if anyone can explain or help in what happened. We have a site that is used to rank #2 in Google. The keyword is not very competitive.

Yesterday, I just discovered that our PR became 0 and we are nowhere in Google.

We are still on the first page listing of Yahoo. Anyone who experienced this?

We have not done anything on the site that should affect the search engine. Thanks

There are so many reason they drop you, few reasons like they might be changing their ranking algorithm, updating, server down when Google visits or probably they've penalized you.

Thanks for the reply, I was researching also in Webmaster world for reasons.

I noticed from our logs that Googlebot visited our website yesterday but the bandwidth is 0. It was also yesterday that we dropped from Google

Anyone who can help explain this.

do you have a dmoz or similiar directory on your site? google is dropping sites with these like flys.

Would you sort out a possible Google update?

Today I noticed that my site came back to page 1 after Bourbon pushed it to page 3 (before Bourbon being on page 1 for many years).

radix.

Probably they use too much bandwidth. If Googlebot is using a rapid-fire session to crawl your site, something you can use mod_bwlimited or mod_throttle, however it’s not going to affect the normal visitors to your site.

I've seen in other forums that a lot of websites have similar problem. I have come to the conclusion that the reason is probably because we have two domain names using the same content. The 2nd domain name is frames the content of the first domain.

What we are doing now is to changed the second site entirely. Hopefully this will bring us back in Google after we re-submit our site.
