Hi guys! I have 2 questions:
1.) Are pop-up pages ever indexed and ranked by Google? Or I should not use pop-up technique in order to promote sites? (sorry if this question is a bit lamerish)

2.) I need to do a Mod-rewrite but the webmaster doesn't want to change the code and offered me the next way the pages will be: ".com/something_12313.tnw"

What is .tnw? Why some people while doing Mod-Rewrite do not prefer using .html?

It is just an html page - certainly it can be indexed.

There is no reason that I know of not to use .html, unless he is worried or thinks that it will affect the whole of his server (not just your pages). There is also a possiblity that your existing .html pages will not be accessible after the mod_rewrite, but that is only if they match the pattern you are rewriting. I often use .asp (on a non asp server) or similar when I am worried about existing pages triggering the rewrite. I prefer to use a 'known' file extension which outputs html (php,asp,html,...) as that is more likely to be well indexed.

Regarding the popups - so long as there exist standard HTML links to the popups then they will be indexed fine. If you are launching them only with javascript then you probably won't get them indexed.

I have alot of pop ups in the google index, but Im not sure if they rank well, but I did create a link back to my site on those pop ups, because they are in the index.

A popup could get indexed depending on how the Javascript was coded, but if you're talking about running a general popup ad campaign the those links are very unlikely to be recognized by Google.
