Hi there,

Was wondering if anyone had any views on whether Google potentially penalises pages on a subdomain rather than a main domain? Are they both viewed equally?

Thanks

I think Google might not penalize the site which has sub-domain , it depends on the purpose that you create that sub-domain. If you try to make the intelligent link creation , you might cause effect to Google.

Google treats a subdomain the same as a subdirectory: just a part of the same site.

site:widgets.com gives pages from widgets.com, www.widgets.com, blue.widgets.com etc
