Unlaunched site has PR5 with no links

I purchased a domain about 3 years ago which I have been sitting on until now. I recently started developing it but it's "not ready for prime time" yet so I have not launched it, or even linked to it. However, Google has picked up the home page. I've heard if you have Google Toolbar installed it can pick up the sites you visit. This is the only way I know that G could have picked up the site.

What's weird is it has a PR5 and it has 88 backlinks. BUT, when I check the sites listed as backlinks, none of them have links to my site.

The domain seems to old to be getting any residual PR value (actually, as far as I know, I'm the original domain owner). Though the backlinks show 88 sites, none are truly linking so it seems there is no evidence of this site on the internet, except for the fact that I have been visiting it for roughly a month now.

Why is this site:

a) listed in Google?
b) have backlinks which aren't really backlinks?
c) have a PR5?

Is there (or was there) a domain company holding page ot similar? If so, the URL may have been merged with others in which case the Toolbar would show PR for a different URL when you visit your URL.

Yeah, G may have an Error or Time Lag in their link database. I had also check some of my pages within my domain and I also notice that many of my pages link to a certain page, although if i check that pages, they are not.

Google does have a delay in their sampled data.
It helps complicate reverse engineering their algorithm.
