So now that I am just about done with college, I am ready to get back in to websites, Since I sold off my two enduring college. I have a few questions.

What is the google SandBox and when do you know if your in it and how? (I couldnt really find any clear answers on this board )

What are the latest and greatest? (What are search engines reacting to the most) I read heading tags and etc... so is it basically the same as when I left?

I just posted this in another post and it's apropos here as well.

Hello. No one knows what G likes anymore, not even G themselves. It's impossible to know or even predict how they will see your site. As of right now, they don't care much about good content OR relevancy. There appears to be no problems with what you mentioned, (certainly not with other SE's), but know that G also penalizes for no reason, so your site could get penalized for something for which it has no reason to get penalized.

If the domain is new, or has never been in G before, it could take a year for it to even show up in the G index in a search for its own name! (Sandbox).

I know this doesn't help you any, but these are things of which you need to be aware when trying to get in the G index. It should be no problem with Yahoo or MSN, or the other SE's, but it's totally a guessing game and good luck or bad luck with G.
---------

Regarding the "Sandbox", G will deny it exists. Make no mistake about it, "it" DOES exist, but what they want to technically call it is under the guise of some other changing nomenclature.

As to what SE's are reacting, well, that's a huge can 'o worms and it doesn't look very good at all. Y, MSN and of course G are all "brain dead" right now. Y and MSN had a golden opportunity to gain a TON of ground on G due to G's recent index screw up, but instead, they also screwed their indexes up as well. The big thing now, is blackhat sites and non-relevancy. THAT is what the SE's like and are putting at the top of the SERP's for most search phrases.
Latest G thread (now closed) [webmasterworld.com...]
Yahoo: [webmasterworld.com...]
MSN: [webmasterworld.com...]

Hopefully you recently got a degree in "search engine technology" (hee hee) and can write your own RELEVANT SE that does not give top SERP's to blackhat sites and sites having nothing to do with the search, and that will someday soon replace G, MSN and Yahoo! Now THAT is the way to go.

(Since this forum will not send out email notifications, I won't know if you reply to this).
