Whole-World categories dead in Google Directory?

Google says "The requested category could not be found".

I haven't seen any other threads about the missing top-world categori in Google: - I have never seen a fail like this at Google before, but maybe others have?

Both URLs exist and work from here.

Maybe you're accessing a data center that's out of whack.

The non-slash category is taking you to pages like
[directory.google.com...]
which doesn't exist. The page with the slash after World is taking you to the correct
[directory.google.com...]
etc.

It looks like Google are using data from a new-ish RDF file for the site listings data, but are using a very old version of the structure file to build the category structure.

Googles server doesn't seem to be configured correctly to handle trailing slashes - and since the links are relative, they are failing.

Looks like google are ditching the directory.google.com subdomain and just using the main google.com domain. This would explain the failed page errors and the no PR errors reported in an other topic.
