Google PageRank is different when target=_blank

I have recently been trying to figure out why several sites that we have built including our own have PageRank=0 (white) according to the Google toolbar, when previously they did have PageRank.

<>
(Perhaps other people in the world do see a PageRank? I am in Canada and I see a white bar.)

(Perhaps these sites are in the sandbox, but I don't know enough about sandbox to determine this)

In any event, during my investigation, I discovered something strange... if I open the site using href with target=_blank, an actual PageRank DOES appear (4 in our case).

Do both methods of which you speak use the same URL prefix? (Both www or both non-www?). If so, then I don't have an answer. I checked this myself and my pages had the same PR whether the target="_blank" was used or not. If both methods DO NOT have the same prefix, that's typical in most cases. My www PR is 2 pts. higher than my non-www.

G PR hasn't been stable for quite some time now.

(Since this site still won't give notifications of replies, I won't know if you reply to this).
