7800 from Google.com
1002 from Google.co.uk (not based there)
1000 from Yahoo.com
780 from msn.com
360 from aol.com
less from smaller engines
lots from other Google countries
Doing really well on the other engines might be almost as good as doing poorly on Google. It's where the searchers are.
I'll say this about other engines. I make a good monthly income from traffic coming from Yahoo and MSN. If you can't get listed highly at Google, concentrate on the other 2 big boys and you'll get there. Trust me.
Don't waste your time on AV
With 1,000 Google we get
157 yahoo
86 MSN
76 Google(CA)
25 AOL
21 Google(images)
Here would be my numbers (up until the last Yahoo update):
For every:
Google - 100
I'd get:
Yahoo - 85
MSN - 40
I'm hoping this means there will be more Google traffic in the future since the numbers are quite close.
what you pull into your individual website is going to be dependant on a number of things that are not necessarily representative of the overall traffic on the search engines.
* includes specific country searches
The site holds great positions in MSN for certain keywords it targets, however MSNs traffic is so small compared to others right now. As for Yahoo!, I just wish they got as much traffic as Google.
Google just seems to be turning out horrible SERPS lately, and I don't mean just for my sector. When researching I am often headed to Yahoo more times than ever before..
All this time Google was no-where to be seen. I was in the sandbox. Then one-day the BIG G picked me up from the sandbox and made every other SE look small. It was like if Yahoo sent me 500 and MSN sent me 200 - Google was sending me 3000 - 4000 [adding all countries].
Since their last update MSN has increased referrals to equal the traffic G sends to us.
ie. 1000 from G
1000 from MSN!
MSN referals are genuinely increasing, not just relative.
Very good sign.
We hold top slot at MSN too.
G seems to be punishing our affiliate pages, simply because they are affiliate pages. value added, definitely not 'thin'.
Sat-Sun
41% Google
29% Yahoo
18% MSN
12% Combined 33 other engines
While the percentage of G and Y have dropped due to incredible increases at M, the actual visitor numbers have increased every month, for all three. We track actual numbers, and percentage of market share. We also track extensively by day of the week, and week of the month. There are major trends found this way.
(see other recent posts on tracking)
I credit the difference in the MSN percentage on weekends to the fact that more people in offices use MSN, Mon-Fri.
