Meta Description Not Indexed?

I'm noticing in the G serps they often show the meta description as the snippet.

However, if I do an exact search on a portion of my snippets the page is not found.

Has anyone else noticed this? (G not indexing the meta description)?

That's probably pretty common, I don't think google says that meta will index, especially after all the meta abuses over the past years.

That said, make sure you don't have xhtml closings in your meta... like this <meta....bla... /> as I don't think all spiders see that yet. Most sim spiders don't.
