Yahoo quickly indexed me in no time -- less than a week, but I'll be dang if Google hasn't even bothered to index me! It's only been 15 days, granted, but I always thought that if I had enough established links from high ranking pages, I should have gotten on Google pretty fast. No? Or am I expecting too much, and should wait another month?
I get the feeling I might be too over anxious, but since Google was basically my last site's lifeblood (it counted for about 90% of my traffic), I'm desperate to get back on Google. The funny thing is I never did any optimization for my last site; after 4 years of running it, it just sort of climbed up the Google rankings naturally. If you searched for something in my field, there was a 9 out of 10 chance one of my pages would pop up first. I was that high up.
And now I have to start all over again, and it's killing me that Google is so friggin slow...
I KNOW Google has indexed those sites that I've been linked from; when I check the name of my site on Google, the links on those high-ranking sites show up, but Google STILL hasn't indexed my site yet. What is up with that?
It's not that "Google is so friggin slow" but that they put a buffer on indexing new sites that get links very quickly. The theory behind this is to deter those quickly produced spam sites from being too effective. Search WebmasterWorld for "sandbox."
