Why do you feel the host is responsible for your penalty? There are many ways to get into trouble, but I would think that hosting troubles are waaaaay down the list.

I would not make changes to the sites that are doing well. If you really feel it is hosting, why not move the sites that have already been hit and see if they recover?

i asked google and they replied that the websites have not been penalised

while at times is see only 6 results for my website having 300 k pages indexed in google.
and after some time they show all of them.

this can't be just a flux, and its happening for last one month starting on 16 june.

I'd bet large sums of money on "duplicate content filter." It's not a "penalty." And if you look for a specific enough search (to weed out other pages that happened to use some of the same words), with the filter turned off, you will almost certainly see your pages as well as all other copies of the same content.

It is a standard G reply; do not think they have ever told anybody that their site has been penalized.

>do not think they have ever told anybody that their site has been penalized.

I have no personal knowledge, but in these forums, several people a month claim to have been personally TOLD by Google that their site WAS penalized. Now, if they had just said they BELIEVED their site was penalized, or that they heard someone ELSE had been told by Google -- well, I'd be singing the same song you are: ignorance and paranoia is a powerful and common combination; there are billions of cracked pots in the cosmic credo catalogue; and multiple people carrying the same delusion is not evidence of anything except the infinitude of human gormlessness.

But -- and I may be naive here, but I tend to give a bit more credence to multiple apparently-independent accounts, over a long period of time, alleging firsthand knowledge.

Welcome to the hell of googles "new signals of quality" according to googleguy, where scrapers outrank very old established authority sites, where those of us with original sweat and blood sites are suddenly punished and scraper sites and 'about' pages out rank us and take our hard earned income.

Google search officially sucks now. I will not use their search again if i can help it, and i hope others do the same. Google search has gone the way of alta vista....adios bu bye.

nice story, i'd love to hear the end of it sometime...bu bye.

Yea , we get the same reply all the time too, yada yada yado...u have no penalty...right, that's why our site doesn't show up on the first page anymore for unique
company name. A Penalty by any other name is still a penalty folks at Google.

hutcheson; Please give a few URL of threads where people said that G penalised them.
