hijack hangover - use new url or redirect best strategy?

I have a site that was decimated by 302 redirects.

I made the huge error of removing the url, now I'm out of google for the forseeable future.

My question is this: The domain in question is a .net. I have recently acquired the .com for the same name.

Should I rebuild the whole site from the ground up and redirect the .net to the .com, or should I simply redirect the .com to the .net and wait things out, hoping that the original site will regain serps after being reindexed?

Also, if using the new domain (.com) is the better strategy, how exactly should one go about doing this - moving to a new domain?
