That site obviously has a whole bunch of links...that are all genuine and built up over 5 or 6 years of the site being in existence.
After contacting say a good few of them and asking them to change their link from sitea.com to siteaa.com, can a 301 redirect be used to transfer say:
www.[domain 1].com/sports/baseball.html seamlessly through to:
www.[domain 2].com/sports/baseball.html
transferring not only the user but also the Page Rank / effectiveness of the link!
Using the [webmasterworld.com ] thread I at least see that the www. and non-www. route can be sorted in a similar way?
If so, then, as I am not a techie, does the script require dupliction of the site with www.sitea.com pages having some code placed on every page that changes the base ref url to siteaa.com?
Can anyone enlighten me on this. I may have a few issues that I want to deal with fairly shortly given the changes on the Google datacentres.... :(
BTW - we are running asp on windows 2003 servers if that makes any difference?
