Banned from Google?

Finding out if banned from google

Have been reading another post and someone suggested typing www.yoursite.co.uk in google.co.uk to see if you had been banned. I have tried typing this in and found only two of my pages in the results (both of which are sub pages), neither being the home page - does this mean I have been banned, why would this happen and if so, how can I sort the problem out?

I think you want site:www.yoursite.co.uk, (note the site: part) and
don't forget to substitute your actual URL of course.
Whatever pages come up, count them, and note if any or all are marked 'supplemental results'.

Google for keywords/phrases that only appear on your pages.
Check again if they show as Supplemental Results.
You may have to click on "more pages like this" to even see them if so.

Is there anything you know of that might have precipitated a ban or penalty? -Larry

Had the site up & running for 3 years and have been very careful, sticking with the guidelines & trying not to get any sort of ban!
Been using the WP3 tool, so I don't over submit and keep the content fresh for the robots.
Don't Understand!
The site has been ranking well for Yahoo, MSN etc.
Is there any way a rival may not like my competition & force a ban on my site ( maybe if they also worked for google ).........

Replies appreciated!

Its more likely to be a case of SEO rather than being banned.

Has your site been professionally optimized?

Google for search phrases. See if somebody scraped your site causing duplicate content problems. -LH

Don't understand.
The site has been guided through with WP3. When I type in www.mydomain.co.uk in a search surely it should be in the results somewhere but it isn't on google but is on all other engines.
I have tried this on one of my other sites which hasn't been optimized & its in the results.

Confused.?.?.?

<Confused.?.?.?>

Ok. Tell us what do you see when running the following command in Google search box:

site:www.yoursite.co.uk

and as has been mentioned previously;
don't forget to substitute your actual URL instead of "www.yoursite.co.uk" of course :-)
Thanks!

Thanks for all your help, have tried it again and google has found all 20 pages of my site, however the home page is listed at the bottom in position 20 whilst I thought it would be the 1st result, is there a reason for this?

Also when I just type in www.mysite.co.uk it only produces two results, each of which are not my home page - when I try this for a competitors site their home page is found at no 1 plus additional pages of their site, is this due to SEO, as in I need to do more?

Ok. Do your 20 pages all show both the titles and snippets?

Now..try to type the title of your homepage in Google search box as follows:

"the title of your homepage"

and see whether your homepage shows on the serps.

Yes all 20 pages show titles and snippets.

Typed the title of my page in Google searchbox and my homepage appeared as no 1 of 2 results.

Thanks!

Does this mean the site is not banned and I need to do more SEO?

I can't find the term "WP3" anywhere else. Can someone define it please?
