Google has stopped allowing downloads of its Accelerator software, just days after it began offering the product.
Google cited capacity as the reason for putting the brake on downloads of the software, which is designed to speed the delivery of web pages. A message on the site said the company has reached its "maximum capacity of users and [we] are actively working to increase the number of users we can support".

"The software was launched on 4 May but within a day was causing concern among users when it transpired that it cached more data than many people felt comfortable with, enabling individuals in some cases to log into secure online pages of others."
However, I expect Google to launch another new application within a month or two from now aiming at the same thing: Collecting historical data!
First, Google doesn't (or hasn't yet) announced a beta then changed its mind. Every Google service that has begun as a beta turns eventually into an official extension of the Googleplex. Froogle, their comparison buying service, isn't going away, nor are image and video search or GMail. The same goes for this Google Web Accelerator.

Lets hope his predictions don't come true...
is that their way of saying "we realized we screwed up with this, so now we're not letting anyone else download it?" :)
Gee I wish all the toolbars could play nice with each other!
