characters Google will treat as seperators in the URL

Despite the debates that perennial reoccur is seems pretty clear to me that Google treats dashes (-) in URL's as seperators and underscores (_) as part of the word.
My question is are there other characters that Google treats like seperators maybe tilde (~), bang(!), or comma (,).
