Hmm.. it seems googlebot has stopped visiting my site! It was last visited on

30 Apr 2005 11:50:51 GMT (from Googles cache of my site)

which seems quite along time ago? I played around with robots.txt last month (to try to allow all robots access) but have removed the file again now (like it was when Google was coming about once a week).

Anyone have any ideas what could cause GoogleBot to stop paying me visits?

Cheers

You got to get more backlinks, if you do that Googlebot will not only visit each week, but each day. Try to get links from web sites that are often spidered, you can get somewhat of a idea of this by looking at the Page Rank, but it is out of date though.

Yes you need more inbound links from sites that Google crawls often. Also, updating your site frequently will help as Google loves fresh content.

If it's dynamically generated but what gets generated each time is essentially the same, you've got no fresh content.

But the link problem is probably more important. Get more links to your site, and you will then get more frequent visits.

Then it's the link problem.

(I'm assuming that you still find your site listed in Google, but just older pages.)
