Abstract:
A system ranks results. The system may receive a list of links. The system may identify a source with which each of the links is associated and rank the list of links based at least in part on a quality of the identified sources.
Simply put, in terms of ranking news articles, the quality of the source is a factor.
With regards the other recent patents that have been discussed, this again moves away (to a certain extent) from the quantitive PageRank method of ranking to a more qualitive approach.
The patent moves on to suggest that possible ranking factors could be anthing from human opinion of the source to number of countries from which the sources recieves traffic to the writing styles used.
