We launched 2 sites last week and submitted their URLs to be indexed by Google. My stats reports that Google visited one of the sites 83 times in 4 days, but only the home page is currently indexed.
The site is built well for indexability i.e. clear HTML links everywhere, no long unwieldy dynamic URLs, home page has loads of links from it, original content everywhere and not just affiliate links etc etc.
So what does it mean that the Googlebot has visited the site 83 times in 4 days but my home page is only listed? Is it either because it has decided it doesn't like the site content, or is it taking its time to index everything?
I hope the latter
