Google results in travel and real estate related

proper edicate for reporting spam?

I did a search for a key search term for us and noticed a strange link located at the end of the top 10. It was a site from another town with a page for our town. I went to the page and there were 7 linked keyword filled paragraphs all going to the same website. I researched it some more and found it is a page from an outside competitor trying to get into this market (area/location)
It is quite clear this is trying to "trick" the search engines. I was going to email Google but decided not to, It doesn't feel right reporting bad things my competition is doing. What is proper in this situation?

It is perfectly appropriate to tell Google when it has been tricked. Google encourages you to do so and I don't see why you shouldn't.

We all have to put up with awful search engine results and you will be help your fellow netizens by reporting it.

If this small trick should be punished, what do you say about a city.example.com owner, with subdomanis like yourcity.example.com - should you shoot him?

Sorry, I did not mean to imply that I think this particular method is a trick that Google should punish. I'm not sure I get what yvt360 means.

I was commenting that in general, Google encourages reporting sites in which the webmaster uses cloaking and other methods to trick a search engine.
