Does having a sponsored link increase your PageRank?

Hello!

I was just wondering if my company's web site begins participating in Google's AdWords where we will be displayed on the search results page under "Sponsored Links" (the links that display at the top and to your right of a search page results) if this in turn will result in a higher PageRank within the general search page results?

Google use many methods to find URLs, so it might not be surprising if a URL in AdWords was crawled. But, Google don't use AdWords or AdSense data for PageRank or for search rankings.

If you buy AdWords and/or other types of advertising, then your site may get a higher profile among the public and more webmasters might find you and then link to you.

In other words people tend to link to high profile sites, giving them PageRank, but buying AdWords from Google does not increase your PageRank or your position in their organic listings directly.
