Hi all,

I have a problem with my URL's on a website. (PM me for the links). I am listed on Google with the webspace provided by my ISP and on this one, we are on the first page on one search, and the other, we are on top. Problem is that these URL's which have been active for about 8 months now haven't been listed on Google.

One URL was listed for a short amount of time and then disappeared today!

I have used the Google submission tool (amongst others to other search engines) to no avail.

Thanks,
SSCM

Build links to your site. If Google doesn't see links to your site, you are a nobody to them.

I am having exactly the same problem ... I think. With two websites I made, one being my own. If I search for my full name (which is used for the title and shows up a few more times in the body), in qutation marks, I get 5 results, but my own site isn't listed among them. The point is that it USED to work just fine. But for some reason it seems they kicked me out a few weeks ago, or something ...

The odd thing is that I DO seem to be in the index, because if I enter the URL it gets found, but only the URL is listed, so not the linked page title as usual.

I'm not sure what this means. I can live with a bad ranking, but not being listed at all? Did I get blacklisted or am I just seen as a nobody as that other person suggested?

I might be guilty of minor cross-linking. I got links to all the websites I made in my references, and then a link back to my site on those pages in the copyright line. But that is necessary and not much I can do about it if Google doesn't like it. Also I read that all this might cause is a minor ranking penalty. But a ban?

The emberassing part is that the same happened to the website I made for a relatively famous italian photographer. Although he's not really dependent on Google, it would be nice that if someone is looking for his website in Google, he finds it.

So any insight in what "status" these sites have for Google would be much appreciated. In the index, but not listed in search results. What does it mean?

Thanks in advance.

P. S.: SSCM, what happens if you enter just the URL as a search word?

Unfrotunately, this type of thing is becoming all too familiar with Google.

I've set up at least a dozen sites in the last 12 months and some of them have top rankings and some of them are completely invisible to Google.

I'll be damned if I can figure it out - I did the same thing (perfect HTML, no SEO tricks, hundreds of inbound PR4+ links) on each of them. It really seems random. I'm sure everyone will say how great it is that Google has finally made their site difficult to cheat, but I didn't cheat on any of them and think their results just suck anymore.

If you're happy with your Google rankings, enjoy it while it lasts.

maybe it's a sandbox? try your keywords here: roberttaft.com (click on Without Sandbox).

If you can see your site in serps now, than welcome to the Sandbox World! :)

Well, my site seems to be back. Yay! But the photographer's site still doesn't show up. Both are not in the sandbox.

Am very interested in that robettarf site. What does it do?

I entered my own url of keyowrd into that search and found the same result for both searches. SO does that mean i am in sandbox or not in sandbox?

If you see the same result, then I would assume you aren't in the sandbox.

Well, both mentioned websites are now back all of a sudden after having disappeared into nothingness for weeks. So everything is fine and I'm happy.

If you want a real good tip how to get listed and a good ranking: build a little Google shrine in your office and bring marshmallow sacrifices every day.

Well, it worked for me!

therookie,

search results for "www.mysite.com" are the same or almost the same for regular search and without sandbox

what does it mean?

they should be the same
