Structure of Content Pages

In the famous post [webmasterworld.com...]
Brett_Tabke talked about the importance of content. I'd like to ask a question about this.

Let's say I have a site for widgets and there are different vertical markets that I can sell my widgets into. Should I build my content pages around the widgets or build my content pages like this:

//vertical 1
content page 1
content page 2
content page 3
content page n etc

//vertical 2
content page 1
content page 2 etc

?
