301 or 302?

Hi,

I have several links on my website. No meta refresh or anything, nothing blackhat. But I do want to know what URLs from my site are being clicked on. So I have an "outgoing.cgi" which just keeps a track of it.

After this, I want to redirect people on to the link. Should I use 301 instead of 302? Thread after thread has talked about how notorious 302 is, but my question: is 301 more courteous?
