We have an ecommerce website and have had the simplest of cookies on it thusfar. This was only for the shopping cart on my website and to keep track of our customers as they added different things to the cart.

Now we're ready to implement more comprehensive session cookies using JavaScript. The primary motive behind this is to have better user stats which we don't think we're getting from our WebTrends package.

How will the implementation of JavaScript cookies affect our website rankings on Google (and the other SEs)? Is there a better way to attain our goals?

Rather than just bumping, why don't you give more information?

If you're using cookies, Google doesn't accept cookies so you're fine as long as your site works withouut cookies.

I don't understand what you mean by javascript though. Are you just setting the cookie using Javascript or are you dynamically generating URLs?
