the home page of the directory has a high pr, but the category pages don't

Hi all,

I have just had my site listed in a directory whose home page has a Google PR of 7. The directory branches into all kinds of sub categories, all of which have a lower PR, down to 0. Drilling down to the page where my web site is listed, the PR is 0.

Doing a search on some of the keywords for my site, it comes up and the results page is a PR 2.

Now my question: Will the home page of the directory with a PR 7 be relevant to Google or the PR 2 of the search in the directory, or worst case, the PR 0 of the inside directory page?

Is it worth the trouble listing with such directories at all?

Opinions welcome

If you're paying good money, no. If it's a freebie, it can only help. Maybe not a huge amount but it will help.

But, wait ... what about the traffic the directory brings your site? If the directory is useful and gets good traffic (PR7 suggests it is/does both), then the traffic it generates for you is probably more qualified and less costly than traffic you could buy elsewhere (e.g., click-based advertising).
