dynamic urls & "-"

Does anyone have any experience if the "-" in dynamic url can cause problems with ranking in G?

for example?var1=apple1-apple2

anyone has a page that ranks ok with the above syntax?
i know it is kind of silly questions but just want to be sure i am not doing it wrong.

by the time this topic got approved at WW i found few examples of dynamic pages ranking ok with the above syntax.
