How will they differ automated submissions from human submission. Google's spider is so active that you can get indexed without submitting instead just by having links. Is their submission lettering hard to read?
I always assumed it was a little joke on Google's part that stopped their mailbox being filled with questions asking "how to submit a site".
Will Google index a page that has been submitted using the addURL form, even if it's not linked to from a document already in Google's index?

Supposedly, a bot can't read the word, thus all submissions should be from humans.

Purposely so, to try to keep bots from interpreting the word and auto-submitting.
This stuff is all over the web, surprised you haven't seen it sooner. It does get very annoying when you can't read the word and have to keep refreshing to get a readable one. It has gotten quite sophisticated, some sites will now give you an audio alternative for usability purposes.
