I just tried this and found a site that is carrying my site under its header but all the contact links, etc, appear to be still pointing to my site and the Adsense code is mine.

I am afraid that I don't know much about this problem. Can anyone tell me if I have been highjacked? The site in question displays the following in their address bar.

so that's why my site disapeared from the search engines!

I had an old domain name which I couldn't rank in Google - bought a new one, did all the 301 thingy for 2 years but removed it a couple of weeks ago and site went soon afterwards (used to be 2nd for my company name).

I did the allinurl:mydomain and sure enough 2 pages of the old site crawled up in the results.

I will put back the 301 and if my 'new' site reapears I'll let you know :)

My site still suffering from this problem. Using the site:mysite.com search shows several urls that are not mine. I emailed Google starting last October. No resolution. At one point, there were over 100 redirects to my site, some deliberate hijacking efforts.

In Google's defense, it does appear that the tracker2s that many have said were the root of their hijacking problems, are disappearing from the Google index. In November, over 400,000 were indexed, today, only 35,000. So, MAYBE they are slowly addressing the redirect problems.

I always think what could be googles problem why can they not fix it, there are some big sites missing and those redireting sites are for sure not what google would see replacing the original.

Would it be a problem if they ignored redircts, I mean that it does not work in there system, I never used redirecting, also not when I moved a site or domain and If I may say the site is not unknown.

Anyway they must have a solution soon for this, it can not bee that the whole google has to be of fake directories and redireting sites.

Googleguy I know you can not reply so often because of you are now a public company, but I sure hope you are working on this, thanks

P.s Brett thanks for the link and Im not sure if you have any trouble in this issue, but I have seen a few site redireting to webmasterworld in the bad way, just a note.

a friend of mine made ~800 euros a month due to this bug during some months last year. his site showed up #1 for the keyword "amazon" on google austria, displaying the amazon.de-description and title and redirecting to amazon using his affiliate link.

No wonder my traffic from google vanished. I used to get plenty of traffic from google, now it is down to 50 visits a week and falling.

Don't rely on this theory alone.

My site using a one-of-a-kind unique name doesn't show up in the first 100 G entries. References from a myriad of quality sources, blog indexes, reviews of the site, etc. but Google will not let someone find my site by typing in the name directly.

I checked, and I have nothing fishy in the allinurl: command, only a few blog indexes pointing to my site.

In addition, 2 year rock steady number one keyword phrase for the site dropped out of the continuum, right out of the ballpark. Doesn't matter that the site is an authority in the sector with the 17 of the first 20 listings being ABOUT my site, for some reason Googles algo has punished us.

SO. There are many ways Google could have screwed you recently, not just this one redirect problem.

flyerguy, what you describe is 99% likely a hijack issue. allinurl often/usually doesn't show the evidence of the pagejacking, but you can always see it by checking the the way all sites link to you.

I go after site that have my title and description in a inurl:www.mydomain.com - if you have succes in removine one or 2 the site will be listed for month with the hijacker cache, said said that it has to end like this.

I just say one thing remove all sites with a redirecting scripts.

I've seen this 'page jacking' also occur with just simple javascript redirects.

I was actually using a redirect page to send visitors to a new site. The redirect page was used to track usage.

Lo and behold, the pages I was sending visitors to ended up high in the results for my terms.

Hi. My traffic and serps have slowly been draining away over the past year. I had many tops 10 keywords. With Allegra I lost over 150 keywords and have only 5 from 0 - 150 in serps. I do everything legal. No Black Hat.

I am wondering about this redirect thing. I entered my site name "mmmmmm antiques"
and my home page and pages do not show up. But this kinda of stuff shows up with MY descriptions!

From what I have read I don't think you would consider this a redirect, but is this practice of dircetories pulling this kind of information draining my serps?

My pagejacker is fixing the problem. He claimed he is doing nothing wrong, but will fix the problem anyways. I think he is afraid I will rat him out to google because he has adsense on the website in question.
