In light of another thread on the homepage about bloggers gaining influence, it looks like that is the case here if CNN picks up the story.

to clear up with your employer before you blog what exactly (it considers) acceptable and unacceptable. Make sure they have a definitive policy, or talk with your manager at length about what is and isn't okay. Also, you have to be sensitive to your corporate culture and that was one of my biggest mistakes.
thus, in my opinion, yahoo beats out google ever so slightly in relevancy. figure in that yahoo also has cool features like links to my RSS feed and guess what? google is no longer my default search engine. hats off to yahoo.

seems like he announced the search terms and the answers are there to see for everyone. If he had said: "I've been checking the search engines for a few keywords I monitor and Googe sucks," then I'd be suspicious.
additionally, as the news broke of what had happened to me, recruiters started contacting me.
Isn't that interesting? The majority here thought he'd be a hot potato now.
He has a new job at Plaxo now.
Going from Google employee to Plaxo employee must be like riding a Hummer Stretch Limo to a tricycle. They've already burned through half of their venture capital funding, and their market is niche at best. But, at least Mr. Jen is no longer a tax burden. ;)
Since joining Plaxo, I’ve been on a team that’s working to define our policy regarding employees that want to participate in public communication.
Seems he wants to make sure this time he won't get into trouble again :-)

LOLO, you think he'd learn. If you're wanting to blog with freedom; don't do it under your own name, and don't use your own company's blogging software!
