Two different domains show the same PR.

PR8 or PR0

Hello,

I received a very unique link exchange request today. The webmaster claimed that his site is PR8 so I checked and indeed the toolbar confirmed that PR was 8. I checked the cache of the site and the site displayed in the cahce was totally different site with a differnt domain. I checked the PR of this second domain and it was also PR8.

The second site is a corporate site, so the PR8 is justified. But what I do not understand is how the first totally spammy site has PR8.

I checked the code of the spammy site and there were no frames or any other visible cheating used.

Then I checked with a search engine that displays the PR along with the results and even that SE displayed PR8 for the spammy site.

I have no idea how two domains can display the same PR.

I hope somebody will have a idea.
