How long until I get indexed again?

Hello, I used the google automatic removal to take my site out of google.....over 3 months ago. To be exact it has been about 94 days.

Does anybody have any info they can share about what happens from here? How long until I get indexed again?

FYI...google did not stop crawling my site during the 90 days. Does anybody have experience with this?

I always thought the Google removal process took pages out permanently. Might be difficult reversing what's already been done.

I used the tool to remove my home page (index.htm) because of a duplicate content issue about 10 days ago.

Also removed the www.mydomain.com/
and mydomian.com/

I added a new index.html page to replace it hoping to get some sort of fresh start. All subpages link back to new homepage.

As of today my index.html has gotten a PR of 4 - same as old home page but doesn't show a cache version yet.

Subpages are being visited by bot slowly, each day and I am hoping the by the 1st week of March I'll be fully back in again.

Also, subpages as of today are starting to move up in the Google SERPS.

I used once... removed the whole site .. about 2000 - 3000 pages ... it was like a year ago, then I removed the robots.txt about a week ago and so far I have get about 200 pages in the index... very important here that you still have incomming links.. I had some around and that helped I think (old partners that didn't removed them) .. I even got PR4! for the site .. when I removed it it was PR3.

So the answer is easy.. make sure you have incomming links and it will be indexed again.

I'm already getting some traffic back :-)

I emailed Google once asking how long, they replied with at least 90 days, even if Googlebot finds that the urls still exist with indexing permission.

Hmmm..I think that works if the robots.txt wasn't on the root. If it was on the root, it's permanent. You might have to ask nicely to adjust it manually.

I have contacted googlbot many times during the process, and the standard answer is that your are out for at least 90 days. Its been about 100 days now, and no sign of any pages.

One seo said that they were out of the index for 6 months, and then all of their pages appeared in the index just ask quickly as they were removed. I removed at the root level and per google, this will not be permanent, but at least 90 days.

Google has cost my company so much money as a result of this process. The worst part is that my company spends thousands of dollars advertising with Google each month, and returning vistiors cannot even lookup my business in the index. I had to advertise about $8 per click just for my own domain name......Google is way too much of a pain in the butt with their policies and procedures.

No...they didn't remove me without my consent. I willfully removed the site in attempt to clean up what a bad SEO did to the site. The clean up process has taken about 10 months, and it sounds as if it could be up to 3 more months before we're back in the index.

The bad thing about google, in my opinion, is that when something goes wrong the site owner is penalized for such a long time period. And in my case, the owner, was unaware of the possible impact of the work that was being done. To sum it all up, for a few weeks of bad SEO work, a site owner can be affected hundreds of thousands of dollars in cost/revenue.

My site has never had an SEO problem before, and I became penalized as if this was a recurring event. All i can do is shut off my 20k per month in adwords. Funny and true story, the day after i paused my adwords in disgust I got an email "AdWords Customer Satisfaction Survey". And for many days after that I received the same email.

Final Thoughts....

In my opinion, I would not ever use the Google Automatic-Removal for a site again. If you feel that your site has been penalized by Google, and you have no options left in attempt to fix it, I recommend just starting with a new domain name.

As an alternative to a new domain name, I suggest updating the robots.txt file and just waiting for the changes to take place. Never submit the robots.txt to google using the automatic removal, as it will take many, many, many months for the removed pages to become indexed again. I think that using this tool is a false hope.

After 11 months of problems with the google index, I have just purchased a new domain name for my site. Only use this tool if you have no need for the removed pages to be indexed again within a 6 month period.

Whoever told you to use that to fix bad seo did not know what they are talking about. I have never heard of using it for that. Most people just remove the offending problems. You never know if what that guy did actualy affected your site. You can always email google and ask them if you had a penalty. I have done things on my site like buy links from bad places and when I took the bought ads down my site came back. Unless your site has a hand ban you should be able to fix everything and be back in 90 days. If that does not work then there is always the possibility that your not good at white hat SEO or your in a sector that you have to use black hat. You can have a perfect on page op'ed site and still not rank for anything. You got to get links.

You may need to seriously consider starting over again or buying a website that has relavant backlinks already.
