Google Not Showing My Title, Description or SERP

Am i doing something wrong?

Okay, this may seem like a noob question however I am flummoxed.

Created a site a while back.
Time has passed.
Site does not show in any Google SERP's for any keywords.

When I do a search using the domain as a search term I do get;
[example.com...]
No titles. No descriptions.

Thinking I had messed up the tags or something I checked Yahoo. Site shows not only titles and descriptions but ranks on the first page for my keywords. Not only does it show up in Yahoo perfectly, but about 5 other sample SE's I tried too.

Have I been penalised by Google in some form?
Its been like this since its been indexed.
Any help is appreciated.

This is usually the appearance of your pages in a SERP when Google "knows they exist" because of inbound links, but has not indexed the content.

Since you say "time has passed", I'd suggest looking in your logs for Googlebot activity to see if something is going wrong with any requests from Googlebot.

Consider all the angles that might block Google from spidering - if you have an error in your robots.txt, or are blocking any of the Googlebot IPs, requiring a cookie before serving Googlebot page content, using "scary" query strings and so on.

All that said, I'm seeing a bit more of this recently, and have a few mystery cases on my hands right now that I still have not resolved.

After reading your thread I decided to look at something.

I just noticed that I get:

[site.com...]

for my website. This site is suffering from the sandbox right now, used to show correctly in December, now this is the first entry.

For me, I think this is related to a redirct. I used to get links to site.com. I now redirect everything to wwww.site.com. I think this reference (above) is just old Goobage.

I'm not sure this is always the case.

I have some of the listings that have been in the index and show correctly with the title and snippet for a couple of years.

Now they frequently, but not always, show the URL only.

That troubles me because it seems to be including a larger number of pages as time goes on. But it is intermittent, which makes it even more confusing.
