I am wanting to completely redesign but not restructure a site. The site brings in a significant amount of traffic from Mr. G.
I seen a number of people say that they have redesigned their site and completed dropped out of the index.
Has anyone had any experience with this and if so did you get back in the index.

Cheers

Our site bounced back after the redesign.

Post #24 after my clients site went under a complete redesign from the top to the bottom their position in the serps vanished. I could not find them anywhere accept for their domain name. www.domain .com

This morning after 2 days of Googlebot aggressively crawling everything we are back in business and traffic resumes and positioning is perfect.

Thought I would share since this is a redesign case in the middle of an update. Lost all traffic and positioning only to get back in the serps. Whew!

(added) I am not sure the update intended to remove sites that were updated. I believe in a redesign with so many changes (internal/external linking) a flag is raised, which caused the drop.
