is that "More than a billion images. One search box. Google Image Search" sentence new on the english homepage?
Guess we will have more Picasa in the future!
P!
John B has it:

Google released a new feature that displays images from Google Image Search above Google web search results when they're relevant to users' search queries. When users search for queries such as [sunsets], [mountains], [torre eiffel], or [inverno] on the Google homepage, they may see relevant thumbnail images at the top
I had a look at it and it looks incredible. Extremely fast map loading and the business pop-ups are awesome (looking).
Too bad it's unlikely to ever see even a beta release here in Australia.
The maps looks amazing Googleguy...Congrats to Google. Personally (maybe for selfish reasons), I wish you guys would concentrate on the search though. Many index pages, including mine are essentially MIA.
I know you can't comment too much but those are great ideas we are speculating that you have :)
So if you don't have them, now you do :)
And that is more exciting than Opera :)
Even though I wish them well :)
For those of us who like the countryside, it would also be a lot better if the county roads were labelled.
The maps, are a different story. now we're talking.
One suggestion: "remember my address" feature instead of typing it everytime

"What’s amazing is that it's missing any type of “Sponsored Links” on the right side, or is it in progress too? Clean content is always Great!"
Clean content is great but someoen has to pay to keep the lights on.
