Hammered by new image search inclusion

Anyone else? Suggestions? Predictions?

Are other people getting hurt by the recent inclusion of image search results in the normal SERPs? I'm getting hammered. I'm number one for a number of keywords which, although not totally about images, have strong visual connections. Allegra didn't knock me from first place, but people are clearly bypassing my site in favor of Google's results. Ouch, Google! (And they're not even good pictures!)

I can only think of two strategies for dealing with this: (1) try to get one of my images into the top two—a whole new adventure in SEO, or (2) try putting the word "picture" of "art" in my page title, and see if this helps. Anything else?

More generally, I'm hoping the novelty will wear off and people stop using the image searches so much.

Has this new feature been discussed? I haven't seen it, although there are now far too whine-counter-whine Allegra pages to read.
