Has nobody posted about gmailswap.com [gmailswap.com]? Read the article about it on canada.com [canada.com].

Sid, if it's that easy ... How much does a PR 6 link cost, how much do you get on ebay for an invitation .... Just a thought ... :)

Yeah, when I read some of the threads here, or even at gmailswap.com, I'm surprised with the amount of people willing to pay for it.

So if you're looking for a gmail account, just got to gmailswap.com, offer a link exchange - and you'll get it! Don't even think of going to eBay or paying for it.

Sid
PS; if you think I'm kidding, send an e-mail to sidyadav at gmail.com or search for a PR6 link exchange at gmailswap.com :)

:)

gmailswap.com is a real cool site, and 10/10 for the people behind it, wonder if they are WebmasterWorld members.

some interesting swaps on there, and many success stories.

Unfortunatly, the current "noise" over there is so high that unless you are really interested in a posting that's less than a couple hours old, consider any posting you make to quickly fall into oblivion.

JBarr, that's right. I just tried it about 14 hours ago and I had to use the search-function to find my offer. Pretty hard. :(

Rather interesting- I saw a Dmoz Editor login being offered. Anyone want to give me an invite so I can get my hands on that?

There was a long segment on BBC radio news last night about Gmail and gmailswap and the obsession some people have with getting an early account. They reported that the invitations are being auctioned on eBay; I just checked and sure enough, some are going from >$100. I think this is what the stock market people call "silly season." :)

[cgi.ebay.com...]

$180?

Wonder if the buyer paid up..

Like the selling technique though, whether or not if it's true:

"Update: I've heard that Google has suspended issuing more invitations because of the ebay problem. There is a very limited supply of these!"

I'm suprised how quickly they got the site into yahoo's directory "Shopping > Barter and Swap"
