Rather, in 6 days.

Check the link: [cgi6.ebay.com...]

Maybe you can get 2 invites. Constantly invite yourself and sell the extra invites.

Wow. That must have taken some time to get all those accounts made.

Since I didn't get MY invite, I hope he doesn't sell a single one!

Looking at the link, he's already sold 101 gmail accounts.

Free money.

All the power to him I say. He saw a market, acted quickly, seized it by the balls and squeezed a cool $3000 out of it.

Trivially easy to do now that you mention it. I used mine to invite two shady characters I met at Pubcon...

Unless I am missing something, I don't think you automatically get to invite two more people. I received an invite, but I see no links, buttons, or emails that leet ME invite anyone else. I suspect that he's an "insider" or something.

I suspect "he" is google.

What better way to promote your free product than to show what people are willing to pay for it.....

I didn't get free invites as well.

I think he's some clever guy and had the possibility to do it. It was the same for orkut, just that you had unlimited invitations and the prices on ebay never became so high. And most people said that they might have done the same if they could.

...my first post...but I agree that it is just crazy that people would pay so much for an account. I undertsand they want one just like myself and tons of other people but to pay a lot for one just doesn't seem worth it.

I am getting strong pressure from 2 friends and my sister to get the invitation that may come to my gmail account, but has not been enabled yet in the 5 days I am using it, is there a time factot to get the invitation?

Who deserves the conditional invitation? My best local friend, my tech friend living abroad, or my "fashion" sister?

Or I should have closed my mouth about GMail features?

PD. I was using Outlook Express + mailwasher spam filter, and now in GMail, email management is taking me less than the half time! Just a descent contact list manager and O.E. will be gone...
