Will Someone Invite Me to G-Mail - Please?

Hi,
I'm asking if anyone has an "invite a friend" option for G-Mail and hasn't anyone to really send it to off hand. I would be most appreciative to receive your invitation. I didn't promote, sell or reruit so I hope this post is ok with the "powers to be". Thank you!

Same here. I hadn't really thought about it, but the more I think of it now, I would LOVE to get to give gmail a try. It almost feels stupid not having it. ;)

If everyone could have it, no-one would want it. It's like cabbage patch kids.

According to this blog [google.weblogsinc.com] (mods - hope it is OK to put this URL here) if you are a member of blogger you might be able to get gmail first.

There is no invite button. i could not find it, when i get one i sticky you.
Got invited by g because i use adwords and adsense, i guess, no blogging here.

i read the mail again and it said: google invites you because you are an valued adwords advertiser.

>>no blogging here.

I've got a blog I really dont have time for, and to be honest I've never *ever* done any blog spamming and I'm not about to start posting in a blog for this reason. It's just not my style, I like to operate fair and square.

I don't do AdWords but I do AdSense.

I don't generally whine, but being a Google Mod it makes me feel kind of idiotic and in a way I take it personally - good thing this is a separate forum.

Given all effort and aggravation we have to go through dealing with the angry mobs every time there's a Google update it would have been a lovely gesture of professional courtesy on Google's part to invite various mods around different forum sites to gmail. It isn't very good PR that they didn't, to be honest I'm surprised and disappointed in them.

I think you should tell them that - maybe next time they will bear it in mind when they are beta testing something.

Marcia
You're perfectly entitled to whine, given all that you have done (for free) for Google in general and Googleguy in particular. I have concerns with gmail and wouldn't want one myself but I am outraged at this lack of politeness on their part. They give them to bloggers, Adwords advertizers, etc. who may be less knowledgeable about Google and probably less likely to stress test it than you. It's their loss as your feedback (and goodwill) would have been invaluable. Drop a subtle hint to GG and I am sure he'll get you one, or maybe one of the other mods could oblige. At the very least you'll have the opportunity of refusing it if you should change your mind.
Anyway, we appreciate you even if Google doesn't.
With Best Regards
PBG

Google's policy on the invites to gmail appears to be following what I posted previously ..in another thread.
The policy is being dictated by the money men in the pre IPO team ...
"Google Guy" is in PR ...."they" ain't been running the show or even having much input since 6 months or more .....
In the unlikely situation that google offer me a gmail account ..I will give it to you in a heartbeat Marcia .

Hey!
I asked first! ... :-) BTW, I'm a dedicated blogger for my product line, using BLOGGER, and have received no invite, so there goes that theory....maybe my blog doesn't have enough PR yet to be considered worthy? Oh well......

Hello ronin100. What a fine choice for a username.

>;->

I wouldn't worry about being invited to gmail - it'll be available for free signups soon enough.

I feel good that I only paid $50-something! Sad, but I was feeling left out of all the fun... :P

I got an invite.

I will not use it because I am not in accord with their terms of service.

I will not sell my invite, barter my invite, or give it away.

Gmail is evil.

lets NOT turn this into a "I need an invite"

I am sure everyone will get 1 eventually.

and if you want it that bad, go buy1 from e-bay, simple as that.

Taronket: Lol- If you payed more than 40 you've been ripped off.

It's entertainment... I have no patience for eBay auctions... "Buy it Now"!

Or maybe I just hate eBay with a passion also! :)

The funny thing is that ppl pay $90 for an 1 GB account, when 1GB is 0.6$ right now ;)

Still, if someone has one of those invites left, I would gladly accept an beta account, I know I can help them make something better.

So if someone has nothing to do and find boring enought to give away an invitation, then I'm here for you!
