Developers Can Now get "Add-ons" to Integrate Apps into Gmail

Gmail is playing a bit of catch up and now allows developers integrate apps with "Add-ons."
The idea is that users can work much easier within Gmail without switching to other tools.

I was wondering when Google would get around to launching the effort to keep people on Gmail, as they do with their SERP page.
