Google has added new security features to Gmail, including malicious link and early phishing detectors, utilising machine learning, claiming a 99.9% accuracy. A small percentage of messages are selectively delayed to help analyse and detect the phishing and scams, and links with the Safe Browsing machine learning system to detect and flag suspicious urls.
For businesses, there's a new system which helps protect data from being sent to recipients external to the business. There will now be an "unintended external reply warnings.
Google goes on to explain that it's new built-in defences against polymorphic malware and ransomware helps block millions of e-mails that will never reach their destination.
