Gmail Loading Speed

Ok so im in the middle of no where (here on the southern tip of africa).

But 9 out of 10 times when i load gmail it hangs and stalls . and i have to refresh using https ?

Is it only me or are other people having similar experiences ?

Other than that all my other services from google are fine .

I'm not having any problem like that that from the US.

Do you have the problem with more than one browser? And since you are in the "middle of nowhere", I assume you are using a satellite connection - so I also wonder about any latency problems there. If more than one browser hangs up, then that's the next issue I'd consider.

okay middle of nowhere - like cape town south africa compared to many folks in this forum who are else where - maybe a bit to melodramatic

no i use adsl .... but im assuming theres loads of hops from my ip to gmails ....

using firefox on ubuntu .... and firefox on windows ... will check with ie.

I noticed this while traveling through South America (Peru in particular) a couple months ago. It would hang while loading... had to either hit refresh or "Load basic HTML" version.

My Gmail won't load on Machu Picchu! Google's broken! ;)
