My emails to Gmail accounts are going to junk folder immediately

Whenever I send an email to a gmail account, the email goes to the junk folder. Why is this the case?

I am afraid that in the past, my email address was being used by some Canadian pharmacies to send SPAM. If you looked at the message header though, you could see that I never sent these messages out. Is Google penalizing me for SPAM that I did not send out? How can I fix the issue?

Of course, your email could be on a blacklist. But there are other possible problems. Do you always send out the same email, say, a confirmation email for example? That could be detected as spam by some filters, even more so if someone once flagged it as spam.

In case of the blacklist: contact google. at least try.
In case of same email: change it and see what happens.

You could also try to implement SPF and the like, which might give you a boost in trust, thus making it less probable to be considered a spammer.
