How do you know Gmail ads are driving traffic?

Is there a way to prove a referral has come from a gmail ad?

Good question. I don't see anything in my AdWords control panel that would break that down for me though.

Assuming you're talking about the AdSense ads shown in Gmail and not mail sent containing ads to Gmail accounts.

There is a new Placement Report in AdWords, but I don't see Gmail in my reports.
