Gmail Downtime

It's been spotty all day and down for the last two hours. Anyone else?

yep, its been down for the last 12 hrs...couldn't read and send mails. Now it's completely down, won't even login.

Have not been able to access any Google site this morning from home (but could access other sites fine); no problems at work (including Gmail).

Apparently, parts of the L.A. area have been experiencing sporadic Internet problems since yesterday.

my Gmail is working...it's my Google Apps Gmail that is down...have just spent a whole day without email wow!

Edit: Google Apps mail is working for me (too bad I don't use it). Gmail is not.

I hope they have a VERY GOOD explanation...anyway, since I'm from India and we are a forgiving people, I will let this one pass provided they restore my email in the next 30 mins, else I'm gonna go on a hunger fast gandhi style

ok this is now beyond a joke...I am losing faith in Google...how can I trust Google again with my email with downtime now exceeding 15 hrs...and no sign or message as to when it's ever going to come back up. For all its shortcomings my Outlook mail does not behave this way...big mistake it was forwarding my mail to Gmail and using only the web client.

I'm on their $50/year plan...billing starts from April 1 2007.

No mails received between 1750 and 0245 my time. Seem to be lost

This is bad. I still can't get in through the normal login page. It's nearing 24 hours of total down time and was spotty most of the yesterday.

I was just able to get in through [m.gmail.com...] but I'm only seeing three new messages. I should have 30 to 40.

Paid or free this is just unbelievable. I've never heard of downtime like this even with Yahoo or MSN.

If all the emails I was supposed to receive were lost I won't be using Gmail anymore in the future.

How are businesses going to trust Google now with their email, documents and calendars?

I've just tried Gmail, and it's working perfectly and as fast as ever. Have you tried doing a traceroute to see if it's really Google at fault and not just a routing problem on an intermediate step?

If you're paying Google, for example for the Apps service, then you should be checking out your service-level agreement to find out what your options are, if you're just using the free email service, unfortunately you get what you pay for.

it was not as if I could not reach Gmail. I could, but they had an error message up on Google letterhead.

Anyway, all my missing mails have now come back. So alls well that ends well.
