Gamail showing thematic Ads?

How true is it that the corresponding Google Ads are thematic with the content of the incoming/outgoing mail?

E.g. if my mail is on job application, the Sponsored Ads I might see are Naukri.com, Monster.com, etc. in India.

As a continuation of the above post, I have also encountered other types of (non thematic) sponsored links.

Does Google check out the search trend/pattern, too, in this case?
