I can't see any way to change your default view of gmail as the html only version, but I was wondering if anyone came up with a trick to emulate it, or a link that will take you right to the html only version. I started not to like ajax so much. GMail takes up too many resources on my machine and even locks it up sometimes. Same for Y! mail the new version.
