Can anyone access their GMail account? I keep on receiving service not available. Anyone else receiving this error?

MY friend said she got a message that said, "There was an error accessing your mailbox. Cross your fingers and try again. ..."
Note to Google: Don't try to be cute with stuff like this. It just makes people angry.
Gmail has a long way to go before it's ready for mass-release.
